Our Approach to Moderation: How We Keep MeetInPK Safe
July 2, 2026 · 5 min read
Moderation on an anonymous platform can't rely on any single method — automated tools miss context, and manual review alone can't keep up with volume. MeetInPK combines both, and it's worth being specific about how.
Automated, always-on layer
Every message passes through rate limiting and basic spam-pattern detection before it's delivered — this catches bots, flooding, and obviously scripted spam without needing a person watching in real time.
User-driven signals
Report and Block exist precisely because automated tools can't judge tone, context, or intent the way a person involved in the conversation can. Every report goes to an actual review queue, not an automated dead end.
Account-level enforcement
Accounts found to violate Community Guidelines — harassment, scams, explicit content, underage use — can be banned outright, and repeated minor violations accumulate the same way a single serious one would. This isn't a one-strike-only system, but it isn't infinitely lenient either.
Structural limits, not just enforcement
Some of the most effective safety measures aren't reactive at all — limiting image and voice sharing to registered accounts, for instance, structurally reduces a whole category of abuse before it can happen, rather than relying on catching it afterward.
This keeps evolving
Moderation isn't a feature that ships once and stays static — new patterns of abuse show up as any platform grows, and the detection and enforcement approach adjusts accordingly. Reporting things that slip through directly improves this over time, not just for you but for everyone after you.
